Day 4 of the Safety Week Celebration at Kerala Public School, Burmamines was packed with hands-on learning, practical demonstrations, and interactive sessions, all designed to equip students with essential safety knowledge and skills.
The day began with a Fire Extinguisher Demonstration during the morning assembly. The demonstration taught students and staff how to correctly use a fire extinguisher, the different types available, and which extinguisher to use for various kinds of fires. The live demo not only captured the attention of students but also reinforced the importance of remaining calm and alert in emergency situations.
Following this, senior students attended a Session on Cyber Safety and Security, where they were guided on topics such as protecting personal information online, recognizing and reporting cyberbullying, safe browsing habits, and understanding the risks of oversharing on social media. The session was informative and timely, given the increasing reliance on digital platforms in students' academic and personal lives.
Later, students from various classes participated in a First Aid Box Making Competition. This activity encouraged students to understand the components and importance of a well-equipped first aid kit. Participants creatively assembled and labeled their boxes, demonstrating both artistic presentation and practical knowledge of emergency care.
The day concluded with a Fire Alarm Mock Drill conducted across the school premises. Students and staff practiced evacuation procedures with discipline and urgency. The drill helped reinforce the importance of preparedness, coordination, and quick response in case of a fire or emergency.
Day 4 of Safety Week was a true blend of theory and practice, giving students the tools and confidence to respond effectively to real-life safety situations. It further strengthened the school's commitment to creating a safe and aware student community.
