Date - 19.06.25 to 18.07.25 Event - P.N. Panicker National Reading Month Celebration 2025 Kerala Public School, Burmamines, proudly celebrated the P.N. Panicker National Reading Month 2025 with a series of engaging and educational activities designed to instill a love for reading among students and staff. This annual celebration commemorates the legacy of Puthuvayil Narayana Panicker, widely known as the Father of the Library Movement in Kerala. A tireless advocate for literacy and education, P.N. Panicker spearheaded efforts to make reading accessible to all through the establishment of libraries and reading clubs across Kerala. His motto “Read and Grow” continues to inspire generations to embrace the transformative power of books. The celebration at Kerala Public School began with a special Assembly Pledge, where both students and teachers took a solemn oath to promote reading as a daily habit. Highlights of the Celebration: ???? Drawing Competition: Conducted across three categories to encourage creativity and visual expression on the theme of reading and knowledge. Session on “Reading for Development”: A thought-provoking session by Ms. Shweta Gaur highlighted how reading builds critical thinking, empathy, and life skills that contribute to personal and national development. ???? Mass Run – “Read and Grow”: An energetic mass run was organized to reinforce the message that mental and physical growth go hand in hand, inspired by Panicker’s motto. ???? Poetry Recitation Competition: Students showcased their flair for expression and rhythm through inspiring poems.
