The I.I.M.U.N. (India’s International Movement to Unite Nations) Workshop for students of Std. IX and XI at Kerala Public School, Burmamines was an enriching and insightful session conducted by Ms. Jyotsna Rayal, Assistant Director, I.I.M.U.N. The workshop aimed at introducing students to the concept of Model United Nations (MUN) and enhancing their skills in public speaking, diplomacy, critical thinking, and global awareness. Ms. Rayal engaged the students with her dynamic presentation, explaining the structure and functioning of the United Nations, the role of delegates, and the importance of research, debate, and negotiation in MUN conferences. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, students gained a deeper understanding of international issues and the art of presenting their viewpoints with confidence and clarity. The session also emphasized leadership qualities, teamwork, and the importance of being informed global citizens. Overall, the workshop was highly motivating and encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones, think beyond textbooks, and actively participate in platforms like I.I.M.U.N. to broaden their horizons.
