Kerala Public School Burmamines, in proud collaboration with the KORU Foundation, successfully organized the Earth Day initiative “5 Days, 5 Recyclables”, inspiring students to become active contributors towards environmental sustainability. The week-long campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and staff members, who came together with a shared commitment to reducing waste and promoting responsible recycling practices. Each day focused on collecting different categories of recyclable materials, including used oil and milk packets; stationery items, pens, hard plastics, and broken toys; e-waste such as chargers, wires, calculators, old phones, laptops, tablets, CDs, LED bulbs, and speakers; plastic bottles including PET, water, cold drink, and energy drink bottles; and metal cans such as cold drink cans, deodorant cans, oil and milk tins, along with other metal containers. Kerala Public School, Burmamines bagged the 2nd position in this waste collection drive among all the participating schools in Jamshedpur. Under the dedicated leadership of the Nature Ninjas Club (Eco Club) of the school, the initiative served as a practical lesson in waste segregation and responsible disposal, helping students understand the importance of recycling and sustainable living. Through their active participation, students realized that small, conscious actions can collectively make a significant impact on protecting the environment. This impactful drive reaffirmed Kerala Public School Burmamines’ commitment to nurturing environmentally responsible citizens and taking meaningful steps towards building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
